Prison Fellowship Nigeria marked 20 years of ministry to prisoners, ex-prisoners, crime victims and their families on November 12, 2009 at the prestigious Abuja Sheraton Hotel and Towers. In attendance were notable church leaders, top business people, government officials and members of the National Assembly.
At the occasion, the Fellowship unveiled the PF Nigeria multi-purpose Jubilee Incubator and Rehabilitation Centre, an after-care service to serve as a vocational and discipleship training centre to facilitate the reintegration of ex-prisoners back into society as transformed and productive citizens. The model was unveiled by a member of the Nigerian National Assembly, Modupe Okoya-Thomas, while Arch Bishop Benjamin Kwashi made prophetic declaration and prayers for the realisation of the project. Already, the Centre has received a pledge of support from the Rochas Okorocha Foundation and a real estate construction company, Brunel Nig. Ltd. The Rochas Foundation has also offered to sponsor four Nigerian prisoners’ children from secondary through University Education.
The Fellowship also conferred special honours of the “Nigerian Bruised Reed” on deserving persons and organisations, among them, SMEDAN, Redeemed Peoples Church of God and Brunel Nig. Ltd. The occasion also featured the investiture of Most Rev. Dr. Benjamin Kwashi, Anglican Archbishop of Jos as a Patron and Prof C.K. Agomo, former Dean of Law, University of Lagos, as Matron.
