Oyedepo Decorated Grand Patron What have I done to merit a medal?, asked Dr.David Oyedepo, Chancellor of Covenant and Landmark Universities and Presiding Bishop, Living Faith Church, Worldwide, when on the 16th January 2011, he was decorated Grand Patron of Prison Fellowship Nigeria by Chairman, Board of Trustees, Apostle Dr. Emmanuel C. Jibuike. And the response briefly was; “Conferring on you, sir, the Honours of Grand Patron of Prison Fellowship Nigeria, is our token attestation of the tremendous impact the working out of the call and vision of God in your life and ministry has on humanity, spiritually, socially and economically. Particularly of note to us in Prison Fellowship Nigeria, is the impetus and synergy given our Prison inmates by our Life Recovery Pre-Release Programme (”The Onesimus Project) through our partnership with Covenant University and the Living Faith Church, Canaanland.” |
Sycamore Tree Programme Kicks Off |
Prison Fellowship Nigeria has kicked off 2012 on a high note with the planned commencement of Sycamore Tree Programme in two states – Ogun and Plateau. The programme in Plateau is at the Jos Prison while in Ogun state, it is at Ibara Prison, Abeokuta. Reporting on the programme commencement in Abeokuta, the state chairman of Prison Fellowship, Engr. Yinka Olatunji, said “we had a very good start with 13 participants, that is, 6 inmates, 4 victim participants, 2 facilitators and the team leader.” The Executive Director of Prison Fellowship Nigeria, Bar. Ben Iwuagwu, believes this is a major step in the efforts of the Fellowship to make its ministry more constructive and impactful. |
